Giving my opinion about Christmas by Higher Vocational Training in Business Administration and Finances in CIP Tafalla (December)

It is true that if you ask everyone to give their opinion about Christmas, we could find diametrically opposed opinions. This is why I rose the question "Is Christmas a blessing or a curse?" in the class of Higher Vocational Training in Business Administration and Finances (CIP Tafalla). After doing some oral debates exchanging interesting opinions, students changed the channel and they wrote their own essays.

Below these lines we can find three students' examples:

Nowadays people celebrate Christmas without caring about its true meaning. There are people for everything, since for some it is a blessing and for others it is a curse.
First of all, I think that Christmas is a special date in which everyone is happy because they can get together with their families. There are many people who are alone, and this is why they do not like Christmas. I think that we should make them see the other good things that Christmas has. In my opinion, Christmas is a blessing, as in these holidays I am very happy because I spend time with my family and my loved ones.
In addition, I think it is good because you usually have a party both at work and at school and the economy moves forward because people spend much more money. Some people think that it is bad because we spend a lot of money, but I would tell them the opposite, thanks to the fact that people usually have extra payments on these dates.
Finally, Christmas is a date that we should all enjoy and spend with our loved ones because if not in the future we will regret it.

Although some people consider Christmas a curse, I believe that it is a time to be with your relatives and we should be grateful because of that. Especially nowadays, since we had to make a huge effort not to see them as much as we wanted.
Firstly, when these dates come/ arrive approach we all become more melancholic. This makes us focus on the importance of getting in touch with the people from whom we have distanced ourselves and to get together with the people we love and appreciate. Also, sometimes we forgive and forget problems that may have occurred.
Some people claim that Christmas is just a marketing campaign companies use to sell more and make people spend more money on things that are not essentials.  However, in my opinion, the majority of the society spends more than usual but with a reason. They want to offer themselves something special, take care of themselves and be pampered by friends and family members.
In conclusion, I believe that Christmas is a blessing and that although it is true that there may be discussions or bad experiences, in the end, we all want to spend those special dates with someone in one way or another.

Although some people love Christmas, I believe that it is more a curse than a blessing because we are forced to do things that during the rest of the year don't matter so much. It seems that we have to behave well and do our best, be better,  more "good", and we should not get angry or be sad or depressed.

It is true that at Christmas we spend more time with our family and loved ones than the rest of the year, and at this time the whole family gets together to share dinner or meals, and gifts. However, when a loved one is no longer with us, Christmas seems to be the time when we miss them the most.
I believe that being a good person, sharing and enjoying time with our loved ones should be the same all year round, not just at Christmas. In addition, On the other hand there is the commercial and marketing issue to spend much more money at this time. This means that families must save money because at Christmas they do a lot of shopping, sometimes even more than necessary.
In conclusion, I think that Christmas has become an excuse to pretend that everything is going well and that we are all happy, to spend money and to smile. However, there is one good thing about Christmas, seeing children so happy.
